Access to Information in the records of SIS regulated superannuation funds administered by Pillar

A member of a Superannuation Industry (Supervision) Act 1993 (Cth) (“SIS”) regulated superannuation fund has a right, provided by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), to access the personal information about the member that has been collected by the fund ie  the personal information of the member in the superannuation records of the fund. A member also has the right to correct the personal information the fund holds about the member.

Generally, members of the regulated funds that Pillar administers are provided with all personal information that would be accessible under the Privacy Act in the periodic member statements that Pillar issues to each member on behalf of the trustees of the funds and often also on the electronic records available through each fund’s website. If that information of a particular fund member is incorrect the member should notify Pillar and/or the relevant fund.
